Each year, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) publishes immunization schedules for children and adolescents from birth through 18 years of age and adults 19 years of age and older.
These schedules list the age or age range when each vaccine or series of shots is recommended. If your child (birth through 6 years old) or adolescent (7 through 18 years old) has missed any shots, review the catch-up schedule AND check with their health care provider about getting back on track. Don’t forget that adults need vaccines to stay healthy, too. Talk to your health care provider about vaccines you need based on age, lifestyle, high-risk conditions, travel, and previous immunizations.
